Alugbati is also known as Malabar Spinach, it is a leafy green vegetable. These leaves are popular in the Philippines. To describe it, it has heart-shaped leaves that grow along a bright red stem on it. Studies prove that this is not just an ordinary backyard plant in the garden for it can help treat many illnesses. It contains minerals, vitamins, calories, water, and protein. Also, it can bear fruit which ranges from colors dark green to red.

Certainly, Alugbati is abundant with health benefits. To name some;

    1. Wash the alugbati leaves properly.

    2. Prepare spices such as garlic and onion.

    3. Saute the spices and add the alugbati leaves. Put soy sauce and black pepper.

    4. Let cook for a few minutes.  

    5. Serve hot.

The leaves can also be added to your favorite soup.
